Jensen Photography by Kip Conwell A premature baby christened Isaac was born to farmers. His early years showed no indication of future greatness. Sickly, shy and backwards in his studies, ironically this lad was aggressive towards bullies, even challenging them to combat and wit. He was later lead to Cambridge University where he conceived brilliant ideas in seclusion. His “Natural Philosophy” meant study of the laws of nature. Mechanical principles were now applicable to this natural phenomena. Newton’s Law of Gravitation There is a gravitational force of attraction between any two objects with mass which depends on the masses of the objects and the distance between them. It is noticed with massive objects like the planets, which remain in orbit because of it. The gravitational force between an object and a planet, which pulls the object downward, is called the weight of the object. |
